Safety Instructions
📢 Please note:
- Follow all safety and installation instructions in the manual and the installation list.
- Ensure the installation environment meets all specified temperature and application limits.
- The device may only be used for the purposes and in the areas described in the technical specifications.
- Function and safety are no longer guaranteed if the device is modified or extended.
- Do not mount the sensor on ceilings or floors.
- Operation is allowed only up to 2000 m above sea level and at a room height ≤ 2 m.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the device and any person.
❗ If the device is installed incorrectly:
- It may fail to operate correctly.
- It may become permanently damaged.
- It may pose a risk of injury.
Please also note:
- Improper mechanical stress (e.g. dropping) can damage the device.
- Using non-approved battery cells can impair performance and product safety.
- Only put the device into service if it is undamaged after unpacking.
Cyber Security
Operating the device in an unprotected network environment can lead to:
- Unauthorised read or write access to data.
- Unauthorised influence on device functions.
Restrict access to authorised users only (e.g. password-protected access).

Intended Use
The AION IO-Link mioty® adapter wirelessly transmits sensor data from IO-Link-capable sensors to mioty® networks. It is designed for indoor industrial and commercial use (e.g. condition monitoring, process-data acquisition, machine connectivity). Any other or additional use is considered improper; Sentinum GmbH accepts no liability for resulting damage.

Operating Mode
The adapter intercepts IO-Link communication from a sensor and transmits the data to a gateway. The original cable signals are interrupted; the sensor must be powered from the non-sensor side.
Assembly & Preparation
The device can be mounted using a Z-AION-CLIP mounting clip.
Electrical Connection
- Installation only by a qualified electrician; observe national and international regulations.
- Power supply according to SELV / PELV.
📢 Caution: Input current is not limited – fuse the circuit and de-energise the system before working.

Care and Cleaning
- Clean the housing with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth.
- Avoid moisture ingress.
- Do not use cleaners containing alcohol or solvents.
- Do not use compressed air; sensitive components could be damaged.
- Remove hard deposits (e.g. scale, grease) early with mild detergent.
- Keep leaves, water or snow off the sensor.
Repair and Disposal
- The device is maintenance-free.
- In case of malfunction, contact Sentinum.
- No user-serviceable parts inside – do not open the housing.
- Dispose of the device in accordance with national environmental regulations.
