Febris CO2 General Description
Are you looking for the general description of the Febris CO2 sensor?
Febris is our response to COVID-19. It is a smart and wireless COVID-19 sensor traffic light system from Sentinum. The sensor measures, at regular intervals, the CO₂ concentration in the air in ppm, as well as temperature, relative humidity, and air pressure, and issues an audible alert via a buzzer and a visual alert via bright LEDs when the specified threshold is exceeded.
Data can be transmitted at regular intervals via mioty®, NB-IoT, or LoRaWAN® , allowing for efficient monitoring of rooms or entire buildings. Alternatively, the sensor can also be equipped with an additional VOC sensor .
Power is supplied by four replaceable AA batteries. A simple double-tap on the sensor triggers an immediate manual measurement . Wall mounting is recommended; alternatively, the sensor can also be placed on tables or cabinets.

How Indoor CO2 Sensors Can Help
Aerosols in exhaled breath have been identified as a potential transmission route for the coronavirus . Studies show that infection rates in indoor spaces are higher than outdoors. There is therefore a strong suspicion that poorer indoor air quality is an indicator of an increased risk of infection.
One measure of indoor air quality is the CO₂ concentration, which can be determined using the sensors in the Febris series. The higher the concentration is, the poorer the indoor air quality and the higher the probability of infection.
In this context, Febris is designed to issue immediate warnings when threshold values are exceeded and, through data aggregation and analysis, contribute to a better understanding of potential routes of infection.
With the help of efficient indoor climate monitoring, ventilation cycles can be optimized, ventilation protocols automated, and the infection rate reduced .
