1. About the Helios Product Series

The Helios product series is a wireless LPWAN multi-purpose data acquisition and transmission unit available in various configurations equipped with different measurement probes and sensors.

Helios is particularly well-suited for reading industrial measurement transmitters via a variety of common interfaces such as RS485, I²C, SPI, UART, or 4–20 mA. In addition, the Helios sensors feature both digital and analog inputs and outputs.

Thanks to innovative power management, sensors can be powered with up to 12 V, even when using just four standard AA batteries. Furthermore, special versions are available that enable operation with an external power supply via a power adapter.

Helios products are available with the communication standards mioty®, LoRaWAN®, NB-IoT, or LTE CAT-M1 and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The product series features an external antenna, ensuring excellent wireless connectivity even in basements, shafts, or industrial facilities.

Note

The Helios transmission unit is not suitable for generic connection of arbitrary sensors. Instead, different use cases are implemented in specific product variants. Measuring probes and sensors are integral components of the respective version. For example, the Helios-P variant is designed for pressure measurement and is shipped with an industrial pressure transmitter.

Industrial pressure sensor based on the Helios product series. The pressure transmitter is available for various maximum pressures and comes with a 1/4-inch process thread. Optionally, adapters for 1/2-inch threads can be purchased.

The pressure data is read at regular intervals and transmitted via mioty®, LoRaWAN®, NB-IoT, or LTE-CAT-M1, as desired. Additionally, warning thresholds or delta values can be defined via NFC or downlink; if these limits are exceeded, an emergency transmission is triggered.

A buzzer also offers the option of generating an audible signal directly on the sensor to facilitate operation. The Helios series is equipped with an external antenna, which ensures optimal reception even in basements or industrial facilities.

Power is supplied by four standard AA batteries . The sensor has an IP66 rating and, with dimensions of 80 mm × 152 mm × 46 mm and additional screw tabs, can be easily mounted anywhere. Activation is via NFC.
